Greatest Generation-USS Iowa

We started off our next school component "The Greatest Generation" (WWII) on a tour of the Battle ship USS Iowa.  My mom and I, along with Charity and Felicity, got to go with the older kids group.   I am so impressed with this group of teenagers.  They were respectful, asked great questions, and were so helpful with my girls!  It was a fun way to learn about what life was like for sailors during WWII.

In the Galley...

Looking at a Memorial of the 42 service men who lost their lives during a routine weapons check...

Holding a bag of gun powder-would normally weigh 110 pounds...

FDR's actual wheelchair from when he stayed abroad the USS Iowa...

This little one was perfectly content for the whole 2 hour tour-Super Baby!

New Years Fun

We didn't have any big plans for New Years, but just had some family fun before our regular school routine started up again...

We took the kids bowling...

The Hoyal Girls went out for our annual New Years Breakfast!

We met up with my cousins for dinner at Dave and Busters...

Jayme took Hunter with her family to the Natural History Museum in LA, then to see the lights at the Temple...

May 2017 be Happy, Healthy, and Wonderful!
