Let it Snow!

We spent the night in Big Bear.  The kids had ski lessons on Friday.  Here is the whole group of Rim Youth Skiers...  10 points if you can find my 3 kids with all their gear on!

Ladd joined us and took the kids night skiing after their lessons.  Tanner and Grandma were there too, but didn't get in a picture...

Little one had fun dressing up in Tanner's gear in the lodge while he was taking break.

We just relaxed and enjoyed some not so good for you food while in Big Bear.  I was cold the WHOLE time and was very grateful we don't live in snowy weather.  Props to anyone who lives with the snow all winter long, especially if they have little ones they need to bundle up all the time!!

Happy Valentine's Day

Charity LOVES Valentine's Day and planning parties.  So, the past few years I let her kind of go with it and plan a Valentine's Party.  This year we had 11 cute girls here to celebrate with us!  We passed out Valentine's,

made a Cupid craft (Charity made hers a Cyclops-keeping with the Ancient Greece theme)

ate this yummy cake a friend's daughters made for a fundraiser,

played, danced, and had a great time!

Charity had a great Valentine's day and we are thoroughly exhausted by the end of the party!

Laddy and I celebrated a few nights later at the Mission Inn.  We had never been and wanted to do something special so opted for that.  It was all decorated for Valentine's and looked beautiful.  It was a nice, quiet night out with my love!

Happy Valentine's to ALL my blog readers! ;)

Ancient Greece

We have enjoyed learning about Ancient Greece this past few weeks! We met together with our school group on Friday where we learned about Michelangelo, who was not Greek, but was inspired by Classical Greek art, from the BEST ART teacher ever!

The kids made the cutest Greek Temples....

We had a Greek feast complete with olives and pita bread, and no pictures :(

And, a super hot summer style Olympics in the middle of winter...

 Discus Throw...

 Javelin Throw...

 Long Jump...

A three legged race...

And a super fun Chariot race...

We also had a "marathon" as we ran from my house to the park (.5 miles).  It was a great way to spend a fun time with friends as we learned and celebrated the Ancient Greeks!

As a family, we visited Daphne's Greek Restaurant to try some authentic Greek food...
It was fresh and delicious!  One person was a bit hesitant to try but eventually gave in and liked it!

And of course finished off our study by putting our Greek lap books together...

January Catch Up!!

This January has been good!  Felicity has been sleeping through the night more consistently, Tanner is feeling great post surgery, and I couldn't ask for anything more than those 2 things!  Health and sleep has been lacking at the Hoyal Home for the last few years so I am now a happy mama!

2 Stake Conferences in one month kept this group hopping!  Elder Watkins visited us for the first stake conference and everything turned out wonderful!

The kids have found all sorts of things to add to pictures on my camera and it keeps them busy in dental waiting rooms...

Little Miss Rey got to go with big boys to see The Last Jedi.  I would have never thought I would have let me 6 year old go to rated pg-13 movie, but when it comes to Star Wars...

Felicity is growing everyday.  She is getting quite the personality and knows what she wants.  She adores Charity and is starting to copy her every move.

She loves to help boys practice the piano...

Her toes are edible...

She has learned to take off some shirts and you might find her half dressed at times...

She is still obsessed with shoes...

Those cheeks keep on growing...
And she still takes a bottle.  I only put water in it, when we were filling it with milk that was all she would eat!

Kids got to go sledding and skiing this month...

Hunter learned how to shoot a gun at boy scouts (and loved it!)

These cute cousins got to see each other and had a ball!

Hunter is turning 12 this year!  Here he is at his Preisthood Preview... Can't wait to see what great Deacons these boys will be!

Laddy brought home an ice cream cake for my birthday and we had quite the sing along for my birthday song!

My grandma had a birthday this month too!  92 years young!  We celebrated with cousins...

Hope everyone had a happy January!
