Get Candy, Get Candy, Get Candy...

This year, we had a Hobo, Ninja, and Minnie Mouse at our house for Halloween.

Trunk -or-Treating at Church last Friday...
 Costume Parade...

Annual Hoyal Family Halloween Picture.  Cute, cute kiddos!

Charity got scared by a clown mask early on and was attached to Daddy's shoulder all night!

We had a little Halloween Party with some of our favorite friends after PE today.  Look at these cute cake pops the "T" family made...

Mummy Contest!  Do you recognize the two tallest mummies?  You would if you could see their faces :)

We came home and carved pumpkins.  Tanner's creation...

Hunter's Zombie pumpkin and Charity's sweet little witch.

 Ready for Trick or Treating!

Instead a saying "trick or treat" this year, Tanner said "Candy for the poor?" and then "God Bless you" after they give him candy.  It was pretty funny.

Whoa, don't mess with this guy!

As I am writing this, Ladd still has the boys out trick or treating, I am sure they will be on sugar overload when they return home!!

Happy Halloween!

Rock Climbing!

I am always wishing our family could do more outdoorsy type activities, so when some friends invited us to go Rock Climbing, how could we resist?  It was a beautiful place up in the high desert, with beautiful rock formations all around, I felt like I was in Southern Utah!

The boys conquering a rock they hiked up...

All the cute kids joining us on our excursion...

Charity is an outdoor girl and feels at home in the wilderness!

Our fearless leaders and their cute 5 year old boy showing us the way!

Tanner is all geared up and ready to go!

Hunter looks a little nervous before his first climb...

Tanner beginning his descend... Repelling was the hardest part at first since you are supposed to 100% rely on the rope, while feeling like you are falling backwards down a giant rock!

Charity kept herself busy taking off her shoes and then filling them with dirt.  She screamed like a mad woman anytime I made her put her shoes back on.  Look at the dirt around her, would you want to go shoeless on that terrain?

Hunter climbing up...

And starting his descend...

Ladd got in on the action too!

Tanner scaled this rock and it was not easy!

But, he made it to the mark he had set as a goal.  I would say it was about as tall as a two story house!

Hunter made it too! Although I will say I think his "belayer" got a pretty good work out trying to get him up there!

He liked doing "jumpies" on his way down!

It was a really fun adventure!

Meeting Mr. Franklin

We toured the International Printing Museum in Carson this week.  We had a great tour guide who showed us a printing press that Benjamin Franklin would have used while telling us a bit about Mr. Franklin and his days as a colonial printer...

Did you know Benjamin Franklin was one of America's first self made millionaires, which would be more like a billionaire in todays time, all thanks to his printing business.  He retired and sold his business at age 42, leaving plenty of time for kite flying in his retirement years!

We also saw an older Gutenberg press...

Our guide was super funny and entertaining!

Then, we got to meet the man himself, Benjamin Franklin!  He, also, kept the kids engaged with his humor!

Just down the freeway from the Printing Press is Heritage Park in Cerritos, so of course we had to stop there to enjoy a picnic lunch and lots of fun!  It is a park with the playground made to look like a Boston Colonial Town, so cute and FUN!  The kids had a blast!

This building is filled with slides and climbing apparatuses...

Another fun-filled learning adventure!

Family Pictures 2013, part 1

We got our family pictures done by a friend who is starting up a photography business.  He did a great job and 4 out of the 5 of us add fun at our "photo shoot!"
