We have been learning about the Space Race and outer space. Such a fun topic! We took a tour of the Jet Propulsion Lab in Pasadena. It was so cool and we learned so much!
We started by watching an awesome movie narrated by non other than Han Solo. It was really cool! Our tour guide was awesome and good with kids. I would highly recommend this free field trip to anyone interested in space-and who isn't?
This room is nicknamed "The Center of the Universe" because it communicates with spacecraft that is all over the Universe! So cool!
Looking at a replica of the Mars Rover...
In front of an artist depiction of how frequently JPL is communicated with outer space.
Here is the super clean room where they assemble everything before it goes to outer space! The next thing in the works is the next Mars Rover. They do a competition for kids to name it- you know we will enter that competition!
Little Bubs did pretty good. I didn't bring the stroller because it would have been too cumbersome. But she did pretty well in the baby backpack, until she decided she just needed to be held. She fell asleep at the very end. My back got good workout!
