Greatest Generation-USS Iowa

We started off our next school component "The Greatest Generation" (WWII) on a tour of the Battle ship USS Iowa.  My mom and I, along with Charity and Felicity, got to go with the older kids group.   I am so impressed with this group of teenagers.  They were respectful, asked great questions, and were so helpful with my girls!  It was a fun way to learn about what life was like for sailors during WWII.

In the Galley...

Looking at a Memorial of the 42 service men who lost their lives during a routine weapons check...

Holding a bag of gun powder-would normally weigh 110 pounds...

FDR's actual wheelchair from when he stayed abroad the USS Iowa...

This little one was perfectly content for the whole 2 hour tour-Super Baby!
