We spent a few months learning about the Civil War. We went to a Harriet Tubman play at Lifehouse theater, which was great!
We had a book club, reading Heroes of History:Abraham Lincoln, A New Birth of Freedom, a great biography for kids, and made molasses cookies, a common treat during the Civil War, during book club. Charity liked them, Felicity gave them a half thumbs up!
We spent a day at Riley's Farms Civil War field trip with friends. It was a great time, as usual!
The nurse really got into her part of teaching us about surgery and medication during the Civil war...
We reenacted a battle and we were representing the South,
so we all died!
I love the ending of the field trip, where they bring all that we can learn from history into our every day lives.
It was fun to go with some new found homeschool friends!
We stopped by the Abraham Shrine in Redlands on the way home...
