Fifty Nifty United States

Our first mini unit of school was called The Fifty Nifty United States. Before focusing on the western states, we thought it would be good to get an overview of all the states. We learned the song "Fifty Nifty United States." What a great way to learn all the states in alphabetical order!
We made an American flag cake to celebrate the beginning of school...
The boys made topographical maps of the US...
We created a bulletin board of the regions of the US to post above our country map...
Learned about square mileage using square inches...
And managed to have some fun along the way!
We were even able to keep this little angel happy and clean!
These cheeks get lots of kisses throughout the day!
