Old Town San Diego

Old Town San Diego hosts living history days on Wednesdays and Saturdays.  We packed up and headed out to San Diego on Saturday.

An old-fashioned jail-I wouldn't want to be sentenced to too much time here!

 Playing old fashioned games...

Cute baby who got so many compliments on her "bonnet" and homemade crocheted sweater (courtesy of Great Grandma)

Making homemade ice cream...

Hat contest!  The boys made a hat and then entered a hat design contest where they got to go up on stage and talk about their hat.

Tanner came in 2nd place and Hunter came in 3rd place-Great job on your hats boys!  The prize was a free ice cream at Cold Stone-yum!

Learning to write with quill and ink.  Very difficult, but beautiful results!

Whenever we can act like an "army guy" we need a picture!

Charity didn't nap the whole time we were there-she was having too much fun watching everyone!

Speaking of Army guys, we visited the Mormon Battalion Visitors Center, which is in Old Town San Diego.  If you haven't been, you should!  They do a very entertaining presentation with lots of hands on opportunities and of course it is all Free!

It was a fun day and worth the drive out there!

What a great day! Army guys can be very scary and apparently very entertaining based on the big smile on Charity's face! What fun! Love, Grandma
