Dream It. Do It. Be It.

Our school theme for this year is "Dream It. Do It. Be It."  We will be studying how to make and achieve our short and long term goals, history of money, provident living, stock market, entrepreneurs, inventors, being generous, and living outside of the box to fulfill your dreams.  We wanted the kids to experience something totally new and outside of their comfort zone for the first day of school, so we headed up to Utah to meet up with friends.  The original plan was to hike Bridal Veil Falls, unveiling hints about our school year along the way, but it was POURING, so we decided the Wilkinson Center at BYU would have to do!  (We are secretly hoping going to BYU is on all of our kids list of important goals anyways!)

The sign says, "You can do hard things."  Fits in perfectly with our theme for the year!

Then, luckily the rain stopped and we were able to go to a ropes course where we traded in our fears for faith and tried some new adventures!

Teamwork Balancing Exercise...

Gettin' ready to zipline from a Tall Telephone Pole!

Team Building Rope swing activity...

Wall Climbing.  Both boys "summited", not their mom though :(

Even Charity gave it a go...

This was a huge swing everyone had to pull on to make it go up...

We finished the day canoeing down the Provo River, which was so fun!  Luckilly I had Dave, the professional canoe-er to help me with this canoe full of tiny tots!

Then had delicious dinner accompanied by a great devotional by one of the moms.  Such a fun first day of school!  These kids really got out of their comforts zones and tried something new!

On our trip, we also got to visit the Museum of Curiosity which was AWESOME and I would recommend to anyone with kids traveling through Utah...

The "C" family rented a water slide on Saturday and the kids had a great time in the water all day...

And Lego playing...

We also spent a day at my friend Jenn's house.  It was great to see her new house, cute family, and dog that has doubled in weight since the last time I saw her!  Not so great that I forgot to take pictures :(

On Tuesday, Ladd ended up flying in to join us and we spent a day at Welfare Square and Temple Square.  Here is the dairy area in Welfare Square...

Picture of the huge wheat storage in the background...

The older boys and Ladd went to the Salt Lake Temple to do baptisms.  Suzanne and I took younger kids to visitors center...

Afterwards we ate at the mall then found these three in the bookstore...

Everyone had such a good time with the "C" family, they didn't want to say goodbye!

We started home, and made our journey a little quicker when we heard we had an offer on our house- and it was a 7 day escrow!  We needed to get home to pack!  But, we made time to stop at the dinosaur museum in St George on the way...

So, we started off our school year right, and are beginning to live our families dream of finding a new house!  Our house is sold and we are camping out at Mike and Heidi's until we find a new one that is just right for our family! Happy New School Year!
