Last week, my Grandma turned 90! She lives and cares for herself, drives her friends around to their appointments, was recently in the newspaper being honored for her many years of service with Meals on Wheels, and is doing better than a lot of people much younger than her! I hope I look and feel like her when I am 90! She had a party at her church to celebrate her 9 decades! There were about 60 people there.
All her granddaughters and great granddaughters performed a little dance in honor of her-thanks to my sister's sweet choreography skills.
My boys performed piano numbers. Tanner even attempted a difficult Frank Sinatra song in honor of Great Grandma- he did a great job.

It was fun to see so many family members together for a fun occasion!
As an extra bonus, this week Tanner had to interview "an older relative" for a school project. Of course, he wanted to interview Great Grandma! Not too many people have the opportunity to interview a 90 year old relative! Tanner is always asking her questions about her life anyways because he just can't imagine what her life was like back then! He asked her lots of questions, but my favorite was, "What was the craziest thing you did as a kid?" She said her older sister would light a specific lantern when her parents were not home at night to indicate to her boyfriend that lived nearby that he could come for a visit. So, Grandma would light the lantern when her parents were home so the boyfriend would show up and her sister would get in trouble! It is funny to think of my perfectly behaved Grandma being an annoying little sister so many years ago!
