July 24 is Pioneer Day, the day the Mormon Pioneers finally got to the Salt Lake Valley. Our stake put on a huge event on Pioneer Day to honor these courageous men, women, and children. There were all sorts of booths set up, like candle making, chalkboard slate making, panning for pennies, and lots more. This picture was taken at the Photo Booth. The kids got dressed up in Pioneer costumes and got to take a picture on a handcart. Of course my kids found whatever weapons were available as props! Hunter's "gun" is really a slingshot, but when turned the other way makes a gun. He SCREAMED when we had to return it! Oh well! I am grateful for this picture to remember the day by, since I didn't have my camera on hand! To learn more about Mormon Pioneers, click

Love the action! Love, Grandma
Your stake is WAY cooler than mine...and we live near the Salt Lake Valley!
