Our final topic for this school year is the Impressionists. Impressionist paintings just make me want to get out a paint brush and some paint and start painting so, its been fun learning about them with the boys. We met with a few families at the LA Arboretum where we met Linnea. There is a book called Linnea in Monet's Garden, about a little girl who visits Giverny and learns all about Monet and Impressionism. Well, guess what? Linnea came to the garden at the Arboretum to teach us about her favorite artist, Claude Monet!
After to listening to Linnea, we sketched a bridge in the garden, not unlike Monet's famous Japanese bridge...
Had some fun with our friends...
Ate these cute as can be painter's palette cookies....
Watched cute goslings following their mama...
And took our annual picture in front of the waterfall at the Arboretum. We've been here a few different years for field trips and always get a picture here! The kids sure are getting bigger!
Looking forward to a few weeks filled with Impressionist artwork!
