Julian Farm

We went to the Smith Family Farm in Julian, Ca last week where we were whisked back to the late 1700s.  Julian is the cutest little town nestled among all this beautiful farm land.  It was a long drive, but well worth it!

Although not really Colonial, the farm had a train that we got to ride on.  The kids loved it, especially the little ones.  It was Charity's favorite part!

Exploring the tracks was another highlight for her…

There was a replica of a colonial ship that the kids got to explore...

The boys got to load and "shoot" a cannon from aboard the ship.  There was a contest as to which group could do it the fastest!

Before the big battle, the kids learned George Washington's favorite dance.

There were a few battle wounds after the battle...

But, the Patriots won and our fearless leader spoke to the kids about how making good choices in life will give you freedoms.  You lose those freedoms when you make bad choices which lead to addictions, misery, etc.  It made the whole day very meaningful and personal for the kids.
