Boston

The last two days of our trip we stayed right in Boston.  The C and B family had begun their journey home, so we were on our own!

Duck Tour
The first day we took a "Duck"tour around Boston.  We drove and sailed all over the city and lucky for Charity we got the bright pink bus/boat!  We had a great tour guide and Charity says her favorite part of the whole trip was the "bus/boat"!
The boys even got to sail the boat once we were out on the Charles River!  Fun for them, a bit scary for the rest of the passengers!

Boston Tea Party Ships and Museum
We learned the Boston Metro System well enough to get ourselves over to the Boston Tea Party Ships and Museum.  I am glad we did!
Here are the boys with Samuel Adams, the Father of the Revolution!

The Museum was really a reenactment of the Tea Party.  Here are the kids in the Meeting House waiting for Sam Adams to come and rally everyone to take action against the Tea Tax!
Here they are, on the ship at the Boston Harbor where it all took place so long ago!

Throwing the Tea overboard!

It is always good to get a picture of yourself committing treason!

Charity driving the ship...

Here is the ship in the background...
After the ship, we went inside where there was a great multi-media presentation about the aftermath of the Boston Tea Party.  They also had an actual tea crate on display that had been found in the Harbor the day after the Tea Party!

USS Constitution
Our flight didn't take off until the afternoon on Friday, so we had a chance to stop by the USS Constitution before getting to the airport.  This is an undefeated ship used to fight pirates in the late 1700s and fight off those pesky British in the War of 1812.

This ship is still in the care of the Navy, so all the tour guides were actual Navy sailors, which was so cool!

And finally, about 7:45 that night, we made it HOME!  We were so happy to see Daddy, feel the warm California sun, and sleep in our own beds!  It was a trip not to be forgotten!

It was an awesome trip and I am so glad that I got to experience part of it with you. I am so impressed with how much the boys know about our history and what great thinkers they are in asking intelligent questions and applying their knowledge. They are all great travelers, too. Love, Grandma

Wow, wow, wow!!! What an awesome trip! Don't know if I'm more impressed with the trip or the no sugar challenge, though. Also, I loved the sectioned-off pews, too -- genius!
