It is so fun now that Tanner and Hunter can actually play together -keeping each other entertained without any involvement (or protection) from mom. These are pictures of their game of the week-we'll call it "GO!" Tanner says "ready, set, Go" and runs down our tile hallway pushing the digger. Hunter shouts "GO" and chases after Tanner, both giggling the whole time. So simple, yet apparently the best game around. They have been playing it all week and it just keeps getting funnier and funnier. Then, I look at all the toys in my house and wonder why we have so many when all we really need is a digger, a hallway, and a couple good pair of lungs. I hope this brotherly love continues as the boys get older!

How did I get to be so old?
Today, I turned 29. Yikes-I am old! I can't be described as someone in their mid twenties anymore. Here are a few things that prove my age:
-I say the word "appropriate" at least once a day, a word I DESPISED when I was young.
-When I have a choice, Talk radio is what I choose to listen to.
-Politics, which I have discovered is basically an ongoing soap opera for old guys, is one of my top interests, something I could care less about as a mid-twenty something.
-I am known only as "Tanner's Mom" to all the kids on my street.
-For my Birthday, I asked for a set of filing cabinets and a sewing basket and was thrilled when I got them!
-It has been more than a decade since I was in high school.
-My baby will be five years old soon!
-Awhile ago I ran into my high school history teacher (Ms. Lambert, for those of you Braves). She just had her first baby and was debating on whether to go back to work. I was encouraging her to stay home and enjoy her baby because they are so little for such a short time and the monetary sacrifices would be worth it, etc. I was giving my teacher parenting advice-if that is not old I don't know what is!
-My body aches at night.
-I can already feel the "pizookie" and chocolate birthday cake I had tonight and I know that they will stick around for much longer than I would like them to.
-I have known Ladd for almost half of my life.

I need some advice...
Last night, I was commenting to Ladd about how I love being a mom. I know I am not the best mom, but I do love it and feel like I am doing a good job at raising my boys. I am the first to admit I cannot do everything, so I need help from all of you wonderful mothers! Between playing with my kids, providing educational yet fun experiences for them, trying to make healthy meals, keeping up with my calling, and all the other wonderful things I have going on in my life, housekeeping seems to be on the bottom of my list! I am feeling a bit overwhelmed with little piles of this and that around my house! (Of course, it doesn't help that usually as I am cleaning one mess, Hunter is just dumping something else out at the same time!) Any suggestions on how to do everything we should be doing and still find time to keep your house nice and neat?

Merry Christmas!
If you are reading this, that means you got our Christmas card and have learned about our new blog! I have been bad about writing down all the exciting adventures we have and all the cute things our boys do, so I thought starting a blog would be a great way to keep our family history and keep in contact with all of you! Let's see how this goes...
