First Golf Tournament

Tanner has been working hard the last month to prepare for his first golf tournament! Yesterday he participated in Claremont Golf Course's kids tournament. He may not have inherited his dad's math skills (see previous post), but he did acquire the love of golf gene! Don't ask me why I am encouraging my child to pursue a super expensive sport that takes a ton of time! But, it is a sport he is excited about and can play with his dad, so I don't mind so much.

Warming up with a bucket of balls

Dad, Grandpa Hoyal, and Grandpa Cook showing him how its done at the chipping range
His coach, Ed (the most patient man I know), and the rest of his class.
Tee off time!
And he's off! They played 5 holes, and we only got to watch the first one. But he came back tired and content with his first tournament. He didn't win a trophy, but he said he had fun. He said trophies are fun too, though, and has set a goal to win one in the future!

It was so fun to see Tanner in his 1st golf tournament and he handled not winning a trophy so well. I am so proud of him. Love, Grandma
