Swimming!

Tanner has had swimming lessons the past two weeks. He has done so well! The past two summers we had to bribe him just to get in the water. This summer he did it willingly and actually asks to go swimming! He still tried to talk his way out of a lot of things his teacher wanted him to do, but at least he wasn't crying and refusing to do anything. The other moms at swim lessons got a kick out of his negotiations with his teacher! But I am proud of my little fish. Here are a few pictures while swimming at Grandma Heidi's house today.

Tanner was the first one in the pool today!

Lawni and Brielle are in town for a couple of weeks!

On another note, here are a few conversations that made me laugh:

While discussing the various farm animals sounds, I asked Hunter what is favorite farm animal was. His response? "E-I-E-I-O!"

Tanner: "When is Hunter going to turn three? I want him to turn three so that I can have a friend who lives with me all the time and we can have bunk beds."
I've never told Tanner that they would have bunk beds when Hunter turns three. Apparently Tanner only takes friends who are three and up.

Tanner: "Are all cats girls?"
Mom: "No, cats can be girls and boys."
Tanner: "I think cats have to be girls."
Mom: "Some cats have to be boys because kittens have to have moms and dads."
Tanner: "Oh. Kittens need Dads so that when the mommy cat has to go somewhere the daddy cat can take care of the babies."
Mom: "Yes, that's why cats are boys and girls." I did not pursue that conversation...

That's so funny about the kittens. Kids are so observant that we have to watch what we say and do. I loved seeing that pool. I remember when I was little swimming in that pool and sliding through that gap from the hot tub into the pool. It looks like it's been updated since then. How's the summer going? Has Ladd found a job yet? We're stressing trying to sell our place and find a job, yikes! I hope you guys are well and having a fun summer! Tell Lawnie hi for me.

My Samantha is a scardy cat when it comes to the water too. Which proves to me that being comfortable in the water is a learned thing. Because I am a water baby!
