So, we haven't had a substantial earthquake in three years, and of course we have one today. Ladd's first day of taking the Bar. He is taking the Bar at the Anaheim Convention Center, pretty close to the epicenter. Most places in Anaheim were evacuated, but not for Bar Takers. Ladd said that after the earthquake, the Proctor of the test said, "The walls aren't falling down, keep writing." So sympathetic.
Ladd said his experience was surreal. The test is in a huge colorless room, cement floors and no windows. There are about 1,000 people in the room. Ladd's assigned seat is right next to the women's restroom so guess what he got to hear in this echo filled room? Women running to the bathroom to throw up! He said after about the fourth person, he put his ear plugs in. It was a little distracting!
During the earthquake, Ladd said he looked up to see if there was any debris falling, felt like he was not in immediate danger, and kept writing. Some people went under the desks, but Ladd was grateful for the extra two minutes he got by not following basic earthquake safety procedures. His first day is down and tomorrow can't be any worse than today!
As for us,Tanner and I were at the Hollywood Bowl during the shaking and I hardly felt it. None of the kids even noticed it! Hunter was with my mom. A few pictures fell down and broke, but no one was hurt. Thanks Mom for keeping my baby safe!

Sounds like they all take bar exams in giant coffins. Chris finished his exam today!!! I'm so sorry poor Ladd has yet one more day of torture. I'm glad you and family are all safe.
That is the saddest thing I have ever heard. Good luck Ladd!! Please, please, please let us celebrate next week! You guys deserve a night out!
ps My sister is visiting from Oregon and we are totally annoyed that we were driving and didn't feel a thing.

I am really glad to hear that very few people were hurt in such a huge earthquake. Scary!
