Instead of a typical school Halloween party, this year we decided to celebrate Martin Luther on October 31. (Oct. 31 was the date that Martin Luther nailed his 95 theses to the Castle Church in Wittenberg, Germany) It was a last minute thing but turned out to be lots of fun and very educational!
Here are the kids with Martin Luther, Queen Elizabeth, and her Royal Coutier!
Queen Elizabeth taught us about herself and the time in which she lived...
and Tanner even got to make a candle with her!
The boys also got to make tools, dinnerware, etc out of tin foil. Tanner really got into this activity.
We played a "Pin the Theses on the Door" game. What a cute idea!
I gave a short lesson on the Diet of Worms, and the kids got to make "cups of dirt" for their diet of worms. It was a fun day, where I came home with three tired, happy, and enlightened kids!
