Rock Quarry

Our Pack Leader for Cub Scouts always comes up with fun things for these boys to do!  On Saturday, we went to a rock quarry, where they make gravel for roads.  It was a great field trip!  The boys got to make their own block of cement...

We got to go out to the mine and watch these big machines at work...

Of course the boys went looking for rocks of their own...

 This gigantic dump truck...
shows us what it could do!

Look at these giant tires!  They said they cost between $12,000-$30,000.  When the gas prices go up, so  do the cost of these babies!  And they need to be replaced about every 6 months!

 Cute bunch of scouts!

This sure was an educational field trip for me!
